On Monday, a jury of seven men and five women convicted Weinstein of third-degree rape and a first-degree criminal sexual act in court in Manhattan, according to CNBC. Per CNBC:

The charge of third-degree rape that Weinstein was convicted of relates to the claim that he attacked aspiring actress Jessica Mann in a hotel room in Manhattan in 2013.

The first-degree criminal sexual act charge that he was convicted of relates to the claim that forcibly performed oral sex on production assistant Mimi Haley in 2006.

However, the 67-year-old was found not guilty for the case’s top charges: two counts of predatory sexual assault and first-degree rape.

In a separate report from The Hollywood Reporter, the news outlet noted that in New York State, “a person can be convicted of predatory sexual assault when a jury has determined that the person committed a first degree rape, criminal sexual act or aggravated sexual abuse against more than one other person.”

The trial began on January 6; jury deliberations began last Tuesday morning. Weinstein will be sentenced at a later date, and still faces four charges in Los Angeles County.

According to CNN, Weinstein’s attorney is already in the process of filing an appeal following the verdict.
